Alligatorweed

(Alternanthera philoxeroides )

Alligator Weed is an aggressive invasive aquatic perennial that forms dense floating mats along shorelines and shallow water. It features opposite, glossy green leaves, hollow buoyant stems, and small white clover-like flowers. It spreads rapidly from fragments, displacing native vegetation and restricting water flow and recreation.
