Wetland Planting Service
Native plants add tremendous benefit to the shores of your lake or pond, providing natural filtering and nutrient reduction.
Wetland Planting Service
Wetland plants add aesthetic appeal to the shores of your lake, but these are also beneficial to a pond’s health. Native plant roots help prevent erosion, and they also help balance the nutrient load and add oxygen.
- Select local species
- Install native plants at the correct depth
- Maintain healthy plantings
Skilled Employees
All of our staff are highly trained in their responsibilities, from degree-holding science professionals to licensed applicators and experienced repair technicians.
325+ Years Combined Experience
With 325+ years of combined experience, we are leaders in lake and pond management. We work with each client to provide a blueprint for developing the pond of their dreams.
Science-Driven Specialists
Our 110+ biologists understand the delicate dynamics of aquatic ecosystems and maintain a balance of health and beauty.
What We Do
The filtration created by wetland plants is a natural way of slowing the pond’s aging process.
In older ponds or those with a high nutrient load, cyanobacteria can outcompete beneficial microscopic algae and potentially create a harmful situation if the blooms proliferate and produce toxins.
Not only do shoreline plants filter phosphorus from incoming water but they also compete with algae and cyanobacteria for nutrients within the pond and promote a healthy balance. This competition can reduce the amount of free phosphorus and may limit excessive algae or cyanobacteria growth. Our biologists can design and install a native wetland planting package to help you stabilize your pond shoreline and slow the flow of incoming water. During installation, our team will ensure plants are placed at the correct depth and spacing to encourage a dense stand of vegetation and create a more balanced ecosystem.
Wetland Planting Details
Native wetland and shoreline plants often have a large root system to tolerate fluctuating water levels throughout the year. Establishing shoreline plants can also help reduce the amount of grass clippings that enter the pond and contribute to eutrophication. We have wetland plant packages available specific to your pond/lake size. They consist of a grower’s choice of native plants. All plants are individually packed in 4” pots. Not available in all states.

Eco-Development
We provide a number of eco-development services including shoreline stabilization, erosion control, native and wetland plantings, habitat enhancements, shoreline renovation, and pond liner installation to improve water quality and long-term pond health.
Every waterbody is different. Our team performs a site evaluation to assess shoreline condition, water quality, erosion, water loss, and property goals before recommending solutions.
Yes. Shoreline stabilization, wetland plantings and proper grading can help reduce nutrient runoff, limit sediment buildup, and improve overall ecosystem balance.
Yes. Jones Lake Management provides full-service project planning, permitting guidance when required, professional installation, and post-project recommendations for ongoing maintenance.
Our projects prioritize long-term ecological health by using native plants, erosion-control techniques, and science-based construction methods that support aquatic habitat and water quality.
Shoreline renovation stabilizes eroding banks, restores damaged edges, and protects property from sediment runoff and structural damage while improving the appearance of your waterbody.
Pond liners are recommended when ponds experience chronic water loss, have porous soils, or are being newly constructed or renovated to improve water retention and long-term stability.
Wetland plants stabilize shorelines, filter nutrients, improve wildlife habitat, and help naturally reduce phosphorus and sedimentation by slowing and filtering incoming water before it enters the pond.
