After selective cattail removal
Before cattail removal

Cattails had begun to encircle the pond shoreline, limiting our clients view of the water.

Our biologists performed manual cutting and removal of cattails for a client in northern Indiana to restore the site’s aesthetics and manage organic material buildup. Cattail vegetation, which decomposes slowly, can contribute to excessive organic matter, altering water quality and disrupting the ecosystem. By removing the cut material, we minimized these impacts while enhancing the appearance of the area. This careful approach supports long-term ecological health, prevents excessive sediment accumulation, and eliminates the eyesore of brown, decomposing foliage.
